Having a centralized place for your checklists and reference materials is essential to managing emergencies in times of extended disruptions.

I'm working on updating my personal binder, creating content as I go to ensure it can help me troubleshoot a wide spectrum of problems.  I keep much of the contents here on this site in addition to having a hard copy.  I also take the step of laminating the pages to protect them from grimy hands and hard use.

How you organize your binder is up to you.  Involve your family in the organization process so they can become familiar with what is in it as well.
